Get Notice in The World – For Those Who Write With Invisible Ink
As I sit quietly here in this lonely dark room, I can hear the rain hammering away pouring with vehement strength. And the thought of becoming a writer as it pulls you down as if you’re carrying a heavy rock on top of your lean shoulders I truly ponder in the thought “Why do I want to be a writer?”
When you tell others you want to be a writer, you rather mumble the words away. It sucks when you share your fond belief to those you love their face cringes up like a dried up raisin. However, to become a writer you have to say it and share it.
It hurts like a pierce needle in your heart when your beloved one exhale and give you a “poor you” look to your face.
That is part of being a writer to be criticize hopefully in a good way.
I write to you today those who are beginner “writers” or WIPs “writers in process.” When we are out of ideas to writes. I want to share ideas to keep you writing.
I truly believe us, as WIPs needs powerful reasons to why we write, how we write it and what for… The best I can do here is to encourage you like a father encouraging his young infant to walk. If that makes sense.
There are many things that hold us back. The fear of seeing other people’s masterpieces on paper and wonder if we can ever produce such a like. Like most writers, we want to create art, poetry, and have people’s jaw’s drop to the floor. In a good way of course.
As writers, we want the same effect our writing has for others. We want to animate life in corpses. Instill hope to the dead and plant seeds of truth and provide hope to the masses. There are many reasons to write.
However, we write for a specific reason to empower those to fuel our engines when we are dead in the inside. Deep in my heart, I want to be published some day and show off my new shiny car. Holding that book high in the sky and walk around telling people “I wrote this look” even if it sounds childish we all want that feeling soon.
Writing I believe should be difficult. How hard is it to put words to your feelings? Writing is about feels. How beautifully you can describe the world with every beautiful or distorted detail down to its very element.
Writing is about being clear. Most importantly, writing is music to our ears. That being said. Writing can be hard so I share with you reasons why I still keep writing.
Writing Is Living On Your Own Terms
We write because snobbily (is this even a word?) we have a strong desire to live on our own terms. Writing gives us the opportunity to wonder and create worlds no one has ever imagined possible. It is beautiful how ideas bring out of your mind like an explosion from Pandora’s Box.
I can create a paradise on mars. A space ship in outer space. Many many stories. The mighty pen gives us that opportunity. Does it exist? If it is written and instilled in people’s mind and if they can feel what they read it exist. We create beautiful worlds in people’s heads.
In addition, you know what is beautiful. They can believe what they want. However, for a brief moment we make that experience real for them. As writers, we want people to truly feel what we feel & think what we think. Selfishly we want our worlds to exist not just in our heads but also in others. This is why we write.
I cannot remember who said this but “To live forever is to be remembered.” This is why you write. You want to be visible and known to the world. We want to live forever through the mighty pen. We want to be remembered forever.
Now is our chance. The more we write a leave a little piece of memory in other people’s head. It is even more wonderful when you are published and your book is read for many years to come.
I think we just want to be in other people’s heads. We want them to think about us. To influence them in a good way by making a Deep Impact like a film and leaving a mark in people’s souls. We want the “I did that” feeling.
We want to be remembered.
Writing Is Where You Can Put Your Own Thoughts And Observe.
We write because we love to put down our own words where our mouth is not. Deep down we are afraid to express ourselves truly in public but brave like soldiers with pen in hand.
We write because we like the new smell of a work well done. What is even more amazing reaching that day when you are published and smell your own book like clean clothes out of the dryer? Taking a deep long breath of that Bounty smell.
Here is another reason why you should write. To observe your recollected memories.
Let me tell you a short story. When I was 12, I had a small bag of marbles. At 33, I still have that bag. I do not believe no one knows this but you that those marbles mean a lot to me. When I observe them, they are than just marbles. They hold thoughts.
They hold life-threatening and happy childhood memories. When I lay eyes on them in secret, they tell me of my stories. My life. Each marble holds a different story. The “cat-eye” or “cookie” I had names for each bring back memories of rivalries and camaraderie is created or destroyed in the playground.
All of these happens inside me just by observing or looking at just one of them.
Why Do I tell you this? Because as writers in process we want to become writers to put, own thoughts on paper and observe. We want to observe our work and reminisce on all the hard work we have put in it.
When you look at a finish piece of art it will remind you of all the sleepless nights, writing in secret and tiring boredom days of how slowly you constructed that writing.
I can tell you personally that writing is not easy for me. Every time I finish a piece of work, I look at it with a blank stare as If I won the lottery and could not believe it.
I observe those nights how I could only write one paragraph at a time because I rather spend time with my three-year-old son. I never thought about work over family. I grew up with a father and mother who worked a lot and had to sacrifice quality time with me.
I decided not to be that kind of father. I could easily finish a piece of paper in one sitting but I write when he is asleep or when I have free time.
This is one reason why I write. When you look at your paper, what thoughts and sacrifices, are you doing to create your piece of art? At the end, you know you are proud. This is what I mean. A job possess observation and thoughts. However, they are beautiful thoughts, feelings, and memories.
Writing holds memories. Great memories.
To Be Bold And Original Because We Cannot In Real Life
I write because as a shy introverted individual I want to be noticed by the world. Don’t you? As writers in process, I believe we are most but not all shy and introverted and awkward that is why we write.
To be noticed by our invisible ink that one day will be visible to the world. To achieve this I believe as writers in construction. Literally, I see ourselves having a construction sign outside with big red letters “under construction” and the due date is not there.
Those who are waiting to cross that bridge might be disappointed that that sign might be there for a long time. It’s sort of that feeling you get when you see construction on your way to work and they say estimated time 6 months but they take a year.
Writing is to cut down that time line. We write to remove our shyness and to be honest with you and write to become bold and original. Even if they tell us to carve our work on rock sheets, we will do it because desperately inside we want to become bold.
Will this make us bold? Perhaps it is just a matter of trying it out. Nevertheless, to become a writer it is truly being a bull. It is bold to put yourself out there and have eyes and hearts and souls criticize you.
However, this is our mission as writers. We choose to become bold through the mighty pen and we will die by the pen.
We Want To Tell Our Stories And Be Visible
Lastly, I want to say that we write because we feel special and unique from everyone else. Even if we do not see the results, we are bull-headed and stubborn.
However, deep down inside our fragile delicate like a rose that needs constant watering and nourishing we want to tell our stories that make us happy. When I write any piece of literature, I feel happy, content like an angel sounding a trumpet.
This is a good trumpet though. I am not calling in an apocalypse. If I had that power, I would because I would think it would be cool. Nonetheless, our stories are a way to vomit our out feelings.
Remember, we are introverted people well personally speaking and writing is a way to show our true colors or personality. It is a way for us to be visible in an invisible world where the strong and social survive and triumph.
We will triumph but we just have to work a little bit harder than the rest. Would be great to be a star athlete and be successful in life. However, deep down inside I know you want to be a writer like me and we are happy the way we are.
How can you be visible in this world well just write.
