Hey we all heard that cliche change your perspective change your life. And it’s true.
If you want to start making changes in your life you need to start doing changes in your MIND. You need to become someone different. Become someone new. Be happier, wealthier, well balanced etc and more right?
So If you’re one of those who wants something better for themselves like personal freedom, economical stability or growth and just plain living and enjoying life. Then it’s time for you to change your perspective about how you see the world and yourself.
Changing your perspective starts with changing the way you think. There is where we must start. If you want to be successful and improve in life in any of your areas then start changing your ideas about yourself and life.
STEP BY STEP PROCESS
Here is how you do it.
FIRST you need to change the way you’re thinking. Your old thinking must go. You must start believing in self improvement and self growth.
You have to believe and desire you want change in your life. Secondly also believe that there is no one else responsible for your life but yourself. You must not allow yourself to place blame on others or the world.
You’re a grown adult and must believe the above ideas.
SECONDLY you need to figure out what direction you want to go in life. When it comes to personal change you start changing the way you see yourself or your view by figuring what you want in life.
Forget about finding or discovering your passion you should already know that. The key here is what are you going to do with it. The reason many people do not succeed or you don’t succeed in life because they have no direction.
Go out there get yourself a coach, guide or figure out where you want to go. Let me give you an example. I started working out this January and instead of wasting my time just lifting weights and running around in circles.
I had to figure out what direction I wanted to go. There are million of them. I can take the get buff direction, lose 5 pounds directions or just build a strong upper body direction.
There are a million so I had to choose one and stick with it. You must learn what direction you want to go. I suggerst you pick the easy one.
THIRDLY once you start in one direction stay on it while learning by trail and error. Of course when I started lifting to lose 5 pounds I was doing the lifting right but the pounds weren’t coming off.
So I still had a strong desire to change remain on the road and keep trying and not giving up and figured it out that my dieting was wrong. After changing my diet it worked fine.
The lesson you must take from this is the following. After this point we covered that you need a desire for change and believe you want to change. No one can force you but you’re purely responsible. Then you must pick a direction you want to go, again this is placing responsibility on you.
Then learn by trail and error while not getting into another direction. Always remain in the same direction even if you don’t see results quickly.
What should inspire you is there are others out there who started that the very same spot you intiated and they gotten results. So you must also believe that as well. They got results so you should get results too.
Mental Tip: Believe you will get results no matter what
Just a warning self improvement varies. You won’t get the same exact results but you will see some improvement in your life and self and you should be content with that.
Moving on you will lose focus or motivation in your goal or life. The other thing you must do is once you lose perspective you have to figure out other reasons, ideas or points of view why you’re doing what you’re doing.
Let me give you an example. Yes, there are time where I want to quit the gym or not wake up at 6am to go jogging. However my first perspective or idea for going to the gym was to lose weight. Once I burned that out.
I had to create another one that motivated me. I selftalk myself “I am doing it for health benefits” but that didn’t work. I came up with another self-growth mindset I said to myself “Hey I am doing it because I want to be 50 one day and look my best”.
Mental Tip: Motivation burns out you must refuel constantly
Bingo! That point of view helped me and stayed motivated. Eventually I Know when that idea or point of view for the gym will burn out but I got another one stored waiting for me. The KEY here is you must find many points of views and once they are burned out focus on another reason why. Got it?
Keep changing your attitude about your goal to maintain improving in life. I believe that is the strongest psychological technique you can have. And you know what else it’s FREE. They are your ideas and attitudes.
Come up with as many as you like and keep yourself improving in life. Changing your life is all about attitude and perspective.
Tip: Make a list until you burn out all of your motivations.
I know what you’re thinking. “It’s easy for you to say but I don’t believe in positive psychology or mind-shifting right away”.
That’s true. But check this study out. The impact of positive thinking on your work, your health, and your life is being studied by people who reported significant results. One of these people is Barbara Fredrickson. Fredrickson a positive psychology researcher published this handy paper published a landmark paper that provides surprising insights about positive thinking and its impact on your life.
I picked this one because her work is the most cited in the field. Her paper says that people thinking or experiencing positive emotions are more likely to see more possibilities in their lives. She called this the “broaden and building” theory.
What does this mean to you? If you don’t change your pessimistic mind to a more positive mindset then you are bound to fail. Luckily for you I already set up the base for you.
THE ROAD MAP
Positive Psychology Base
1. Desire To Change Forward
2. Picking a Direction To Go
3. Trail and Error
4. Keep Changing Perspective Until Success
Now what this further means is results for everyone will vary. But there is a lot of Research out there telling you to remain positive, believe and place a direction where you want to go.
The best I can teach you here is to shake your mind so you can believe you also have the possibilities to improve in life. Try it. Results vary but give it a week or two perhaps a month.
Start making changes in your life by the simple four step map I gave you and watch yourself improve bit by bit.
