1 Strong “Why” Is Not Enough To Achieve A Goal
As I sit quietly here on my armchair, lighting up a cigarette hesitating while hearing the thundering roar of thoughts bouncing back and forward inside my head. I begin to ponder the question “Why do I want to become a writer”.
It is definitely not something anyone wakes up and makes their mind about. Becoming a writer is difficult it takes time.
I am pretty sure you have yours bouncing inside you too or your personal goal you’re hesitant about as well. Ping-ponging in your head.
Despite the vacillating back and forward like a Newton’s cradle pendulum. I have not given up on the idea. You should not either.
What has given it longevity is a strong why. It has been three years and I have not given up yet.
I believe I never will.
I learn somewhere in my early childhood to pursue goals no matter the circumstances.
Big or small or a “pipe dream.” It is your job as well as mine to squeeze ourselves through it and come out victorious what ever that means in our terms.
Squeeze through it as you may for you will hear your bones crackling.
Keep your dream alive through good reasons.
Pursing your goal must make you feel alive similar to that very moment Frankenstein breath his first air.
They fill us up like oxygen for our lungs. Providing us the opportunity to crack through hopeless cemented doors.
These is what goals do to the soul. They help you seek a feeling of vivacity, of aliveness.
Inspiring you not to quit because of the personal freedom and life it will pour in our life.
Personally my goal as a writer inspires me to have money, wealth, worthiness to make a living from something I enjoy in life, writing. In my terms. Perhaps this is something that should motivate you too.
I believe our goal and it is and feels our own when we feel alive in the morning. I will tell you this. I haven’t reached “success” as I want to with my writing however, every morning I feel alive thinking about it.
One day it will become true.
I dream of that day of waking up and saying gently with a smile of glee “I made it and I am finally published on paper.” Another thought that inspires me is visioning myself “I am a paid author.”
You need several reasons to keep going. I have shared mine.
I hope you have yours remember they must make you feel alive.
Observe Your Personal Growth
Here is another lovely reason why you should pursue your goal or goals. They give you the opportunity to develop bravery and courage.
In hearts of timid fearful men who want to realize their dreams in life. It inspires in them action the necessary ingredient needed to accomplish any goal.
In their mind’s eye it invokes desire a heavenly chemical element that helps men develop courage and determination. Preventing them from hiding from this cruel unjust world.
No more hiding. It gives them time to chase their dreams. Be careful though, time can run out. Goals do not wait for those who are dull and slow.
This is where you need to observe your growth. And measure yourself and where you stand in life.
Walk through the obstacles of life, struggle, beg and push all of these develop growth and character in the individual the result of a well chased dream.
That you one day will self-evaluate from start to finish. Peak inside your childhood memories and you will see how much you have grown.
Change it if you are not where you want to be. Personally, I look back and reminisce how much I have grown from a lower-class ghetto raised kid in a violent environment and manage to graduate with honors and hold a masters degree.
Self observation allows us to see those wins. How powerful changes are in our life.
Now it is time for more self observation and growth. I recall, if I may I would share this intimate detail with you. Many will not believe in you because of your history.
“You can not do that,” or “That is for other people.” How many times have I heard those lines when I shared my “pipe dreams” to those I love or expected encouragement from.
To my dismay. It is not an excuse to quit. I manage to prove many people wrong and that is the beauty of growth in life. To prove yourself you can to you and others.
Prove people wrong is a strong motivator to accomplish goals. That is what I am trying to say here.
Get Noticed In This Noisy World
I believe you can also pursue your goals in life because you like me shared a common particularity of perhaps feeling unnoticed somewhere in our life.
As humans we need the constant attention, egocentric and narcissistic at times. Even if we do not want to admit it.
And you need a bit of that to pursue your goal. Show the world you exist is a powerful way to stay inspired in life.
Take this example, despite the medals and trophies hanging on the shelf or wall something inside me told me, “Do more becau it is not enough.”
I went to believe it and went to seek more our of life and discover success. I am notan unhappy person for I find satisfaction in many things that bring a smile to my face.
I just want more, turning greedy. I do not know perhaps the capitalist in me is coming out. Survival of the fittest and brave.
Hiding away with silent lips no more. It ends today,
Which is why that is also nothing to be ashamed of because you will need this sort of attitude too to get to places.
Sometimes we do the incorrect things to make the right one. I got this from a movie somewhere, however I cannot remember for they deserve their credit.
From time to time you will seek to feel the need to be visible in the world. Again, do not feel guilt it is normal and it will get you places.
I am throwing all these gems and sharing them with you because you will need these thoughts to succeed in life. It will take more than just desire to become something.
Perhaps the way you think has not help but, you can change your soul. Change your reasons for why you are doing what you are not.
A world will open to you.
Before I leave you, reasons are powerful. Reasons matter and I have shared above some with you to implement in your own personal goal journey.
They will make you or bake you.
Having just ONE strong “Why” is not enough this is just the beginning, reader.
